Cannabinoid Extraction and Separation

Cannabis Sativa contains a diverse collection of compounds that have an increasing medicinal interest. This includes terpenes which provide the characteristic aroma and flavours, however it is the grouping of cannabinoids that are the current interest.

The cannabis plant produces over 100 different cannabinoids. These are held within the trichromes of the plant. With such a large range of active components in cannabis, it represents a challenge to extract the cannabinoids from the plant material and separate the individual cannabinoids.
